The property has trails that traverse through forests, valleys and pastures with great vistas. Horse Creek Adventures has several miles of trails. Horse Creek is nestled in a valley of the Loess Hills in Southwest Iowa.

Plan to spend several days so you can expand your riding to Waubonsie State Park Equestrian trails or the Wabash Trace Trail. To accommodate our guests who do not want to move their trailer after they arrive, we have added to our services, trailering your horses to Waubonsie or other close by riding areas.

Day Use: Riders with horses are welcome to spend a day at Horse Creek. Reservations are necessary because we allow only a limited number of riders. As a guest, you will have exclusive use of the picnic area and any of the amenities.

Day rates: Sun up to sunset- are a flat $15 rate per person for up to 10 people. Ask us about group rates for larger parties. For non- horse owners, guided rides for up to two hours are available with prior reservations.

Guided Trail Rides

We work with our neighbors, who are well known in the Rodeo World. Each year their stock is used to put on Bull Riding events in several hundred locations throughout the nation. There horses are well trained and as they say in the industry” bullet proof”. Meaning riders can expect a good ride on a well- trained animal. There are two different rides. The first is a guided  two-hour ride on Horse Creek Adventure’s land. The property has over five miles of horse trails that take riders through the Loess Hills and a variety of venues- up hills that provide great views; down into valleys and through the woods. 

There is a children’s ride in a small arena that lasts an hour.  If the children have never ridden before or are very young, the ride can be split between two children and let each one ride for 30 minutes. The ride provides for kids to experience everything from walking the horse and learning how to give commands to riding a running horse.

Rides are only available for guests staying at the ranch. Call for cost and to set up a ride. 

Country Diamond Inn is our seven bedroom country home on the ranch. Book a room for you and use our amenities for your horse. 

Off the Grid Cabins 
Enjoy one of our off the grid cabins and stables, and leave your horse in the corral beside you.

Smell the coffee?  Jack and Reno ride the property every day. They are available to answer questions, “shoot the breeze” and/or give you tips on enjoying the area.…extra coffee and a carrot are always welcome.
